DAY 7, AUGUST 26: Finished!!!

As most of you may already know, on Saturday 26th August 2017, myself and 3 friends completed the 891.8 mile journey from John o’Groats to Lands End.

Along the way we climbed 43,651 feet of elevation, burned 34,697 calories and spent over 70 hours cycling, on our longest day we finished cycling at 2am in the morning and most nights we were only able to get 5 hours sleep before getting up and doing it all again. Our longest day was 155.1 miles and our average mileage per day was 127 miles and crazily I managed a top speed of 55.5 mph on the final day along the A30.

For me this has been a journey that has been over 10 years in the making since my dad and I first did End2End together in 2006, but were unable to complete within the timescale of 7 days and only managing 10 days.

I’d like to thank everyone involved in supporting the Team and I along the way, especially the companies that have sponsored us to make this happen Fosroc, KnowHow, ByBox, Crisis Worldwide Sameday Couriers (Charles Grant-Salmon) Cardean Couriers and Techlogico, Luke Gooding at Lumisi with all the shirt and web design work. The support crew have been amazing and without them the whole thing would have been unachievable so a massive thanks to Sue Franklin, Mark Franklin, Raymond Doherty and Wayne Szeniawski for giving up their time and tending to our every need along the way.

Our primary charity is The Basil Skyers Myeloma Foundation. However, I have chosen to add a couple of other worthy causes that mean something personal to me for my Sponsorship Page in hope to raise a few £££’s for those charities, Headway and Road Peace.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this and for your support and encouragement along the way, I fulfilled a dream with some great friends.

Regards
Dan Dolby
